Brooksie Pike Award Recipient with John Pike

The Brooksie A. Pike Scholarship was established by her family to pay tribute to her and her forty-year career in cosmetology. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be full-time cosmetology students entering the final quarter at Okefenokee Technical College with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and quarterly work ethics grades of 2 or 3.

Kimberly is a resident of Folkston, Georgia, and the mother of three. Mrs. Brunson, her instructor, describes Mrs. Pollock as being disciplined, having excellent work ethics, and very deserving of this scholarship.

In her application for the scholarship, Mrs. Pollock wrote, “I have been interested in the cosmetology field since I was twelve years old. After my mother spoke so highly of the benefits of attending the cosmetology program at Okefenokee Technical College, I knew that I must strive very hard to get accepted into the program. The program offered at this school is the best in the state of Georgia, and I know that after completing this course, I will be able to become a successful cosmetologist.”
