A self-professed weather “holic,” Buresh became fascinated with weather at a very young age while growing up in rural Iowa. He has storm chased and worked at the National Weather Service in Oklahoma, WHO-TV in Des Moines, and WKRC-TV in Cincinnati.

He earned the American Meteorological Society’s “Seal of Approval” shortly after graduating from Iowa State University in the late 80s. He has also achieved certification for Broadcast Meteorologist, meeting specific educational and experience criteria and passing rigorous testing in related sciences.

Jason Rubenbauer (right), OTC continuing education director, contacted Buresh for the training program. Both men are from rural Iowa and have family there.
