Local Author, Sue Clark, Donates Book To OTC

Local author Susan "Sue" Lott Clark recently donated a signed copy of her most recent book, The Unusual Story of the Okefenokee Heritage Center and Southern Forest World, to Okefenokee Technical College. OTC President Dr. Gail Thaxton (right) accepted the book on behalf of the college.

Mrs. Clark joined President Thaxton in the college library for the presentation. Following the photo, Clark and Thaxton thumbed through the pages, as Clark shared interesting tidbits, and Thaxton admired photos of an earlier Waycross and Ware County.

The book, described as a unique historical account of Waycross and Ware County, contains over 1,000 photographs and illustrations. The common thread in the book is the establishment of an exhibit center intended to chronicle local history, 50 years in the making.

OTC Library Services Director Cassie Clemons and President Thaxton thanked Clark for her generosity and thoughtfulness. Clemons invites students and the public to stop by the OTC Library, located in the new allied health building, to read the book and take advantage of other library services and resources.
The popular book is available for purchase at the Okefenokee Heritage Center, 1460 North Augusta Avenue, Waycross, (912) 285-4260, for $37.45. All proceeds support the Okefenokee Heritage Center and Southern Forest World.
