New Ditch Witch for OTC Lineworker Program

Okefenokee Technical College students in the Electrical Lineworker Apprentice program are eager to try out the new Ditch Witch RT45 recently purchased for the program. According to Kevin Metts, lineworker program instructor, the trencher, which has backhoe and vibe plow attachments, will be used to enhance students’ understanding of underground cable installations and maintenance. “Students will also be taught safety features and hazards of using this type of machinery,” continued Metts. Jeff Wiggins (left in right photo) of Ditch Witch of Georgia worked with Mr. Metts and OTC Vice President for Economic Development Andy Brannen (right) to secure the equipment at a reasonable cost. For more information about the lineworker program, call Kevin Metts at (912) 287-5815.
