OTC Foundation Celebrates Campaign Success

At a recent staff development meeting, the Okefenokee Technical College faculty and staff celebrated another successful internal campaign drive. Cindy Tanner, Director of Resource Development, announced that the fund drive was immensely successful.

Four goals were set for the in-house FY07 drive: 100% participation from the full-time staff, an overall pledge increase of 10%, pledges and gifts totaling at least $15,000, and an addition of at least two staff in the 1% Club.

Mrs. Tanner announced that all goals had been met. In fact, ten additional staff members joined the 1% Club, and the staff exceeded their monetary goal. After sufficient fanfare, Mr. Paulk, Foundation Chair, announced the total contributions/pledges for the campaign – $17,743. The staff exceeded their monetary goal by $2,743! Mr. Paulk congratulated the staff for their successful campaign and thanked them for their generosity. He said that their financial support of the foundation is a testament of their belief in technical education and the mission of the college. Dr. Thaxton also extended her appreciation to the staff. She said that much of the work of the college depends on the financial support of the Foundation.

The staff was treated to a celebration breakfast sponsored by Waycross Bank & Trust. Mrs. Tanner also expressed thanks to the following businesses/persons for making the internal campaign successful: Dr. Gail Thaxton, Waycross Bank & Trust, Okefenokee Country Club, Mattox Broadcasting Company, Kenny & Cherie McCarthy, Mark Deal & the OTC Horticulture Program, Ron Wade Blueberry Nursery, Yarbrough’s Office Products, J.C.
