OTC Names 2012 GOAL Nominees

Okefenokee Technical College recently named the 2012 GOAL nominees. GOAL stands for Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership and is the highest student honor for the Technical College System of Georgia.  Competition occurs first at the college level among nominated students.  A college GOAL winner is selected who then competes at the regional level and ultimately at the state level for the title of state GOAL winner. 

To be nominated by an instructor, a student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, maintain excellent work ethics and exhibit qualities of leadership in the classroom and community. 

The students nominated for 2012 GOAL at Okefenokee Technical College are
Kimberly Daniels, nominated by nursing instructor Theresa Henry; Deidre Durance, nominated by computer information systems instructor Eddie Murray; Stacey Durance, nominated by computer information systems instructor Eddie Murray; Caleb Manac, nominated by computer information systems instructor Derrell Harris; Dale Via, nominated by criminal justice instructor Jaki Johnson; James Watson, nominated by automotive technology instructor Larry Carr; Esther Williams, nominated by early childhood and education instructor Ruth Nimmer; and Monica Williams, nominated by clinical laboratory technology instructor Mary Ann Hursey.
