OTC Announces 2014 GOAL Nominees

Okefenokee Technical College president, Dr. Glenn Deibert, is pleased to announce that OTC, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), will once again participate in the GOAL program. The college has eleven nominees for the local competition. Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) is the highest student honor for the technical college system.

Competition occurs first at the college level among nominated students.  A college GOAL winner is selected who then competes at the regional level and ultimately at the state level for the title of state GOAL winner.

To be eligible as a nominee, students must be nominated by an instructor and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, maintain excellent work ethics, and exhibit qualities of leadership in the classroom and community.

Karen Boyle, OTC GOAL coordinator, recently announced the following 2014 GOAL nominees: Amanda Adamski, radiologic technology program, nominated by instructor Donna Yeomans; Christopher Ellis, computer information systems program, nominated by instructor Eddie Murray; Robert C. Griffin, computer information systems program, nominated by instructor Laree Thomas; Kathy Jarrell, radiologic technology program, nominated by instructor Donna Yeomans; Felix Lara, automotive technology program, nominated by instructor Larry Carr; Timothey Lemley, electronics technology program, nominated by instructor Thomas Wesley; Bailey McNeal, radiology technology program, nominated by instructor Donna Yeomans; Frank Garrett Ratliff, computer information systems program, nominated by instructor Laree Thomas; Catharine Simmons, respiratory technology program, nominated by instructor Dr. Faye Mathis; Brittny Walker, radiologic technology program, nominated by instructor Donna Yeomans; and Jordan Watkins, radiologic technology program, nominated by instructor Donna Yeomans.
