OTC Respiratory Program Director Faye Mathis Attends GSRC Conference

Okefenokee Technical College Respiratory Care Technology Program Director Faye Mathis was among a host of professional respiratory therapists who recently attended the 2011 annual summer conference of the Georgia Society for Respiratory Care (GSRC).  The event was held in Savannah, Georgia, at the DeSoto Hilton July 28 -31. Ms. Mathis serves as a member of the GSRC Program and Education Committee, which, among other things, recruits speakers for Society conferences.  This year a local cardiologist, Dr. Timothy Catchings with Satilla Regional Medical Center, was invited to speak. Dr. Catchings made two presentations to over 200 licensed respiratory therapists: “Cardiomyopathy: Terms, Causes and Management” and “So You Think You’re Having a Heart Attack.”
