OTC Announces Winners of Prevention Brochure Contest

contest presenters and winners

Paula Pittman and Samantha San Nicholas are the winners of the Health Psychology Prevention Brochure Contest sponsored by New Connections to Work and the OTC Student Government Association.

At an announcement ceremony held at the Miller Lecture Hall on September 13, 2006, Tracy Brummett of New Connections to Work (NCTW) announced the winners and said that the selection committee was very impressed with all of the brochures submitted for review. The contest was open to all OTC students taking PSY 101 and PSY 191. The contest coordinators were Christine Whitley, OTC Psychology instructor, Tracy Brummett, and Patrick Simmons, SGA Advisor.

All contest participants were recognized with a gift bag and certificate. The coordinators also showed a video that outlined the contest beginnings, rules, and purpose. Finally, a slideshow was presented of all of the participants’ brochures, followed by the announcement of the winners.

Pittman and San Nicholas received 100 professionally printed copies of their brochure and a special gift. The remaining copies of their brochure will be used by New Connections to Work as handouts for their workshops and seminars.
