Cochran Is Recipient of Brooksie A. Pike Scholarship

On behalf of Dr. John Pike, Cindy Tanner recently presented a check to cosmetology student Allison Cochran, who is the recipient of the Brooksie A. Pike Memorial Scholarship for the Summer 2007 graduating class.

The Brooksie A. Pike Scholarship was established by Dr. John Pike and other family members to pay tribute to Mrs. Pike, who had a forty-year career in cosmetology. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be full-time cosmetology students entering the final quarter at Okefenokee Technical College with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and excellent quarterly work ethics grades. Cochran is looking forward to her new career. She commented, “I look forward to going to work and continuing to learn from other hairstylists. I love working with people and love having the chance to express my uniqueness and creativity.” Cochran is from Ware County and has two children, Breanna and Bobby.
