Jack Johnson Joins OTC Board of Directors

Jack Johnson of Bacon County recently agreed to serve as a member of the Okefenokee Technical College Board of Directors. Johnson is vice president of First National Bank South and has been involved in the bank’s operations for the past seven years. He is a 1996 graduate of Bacon County High School and holds a Jack Johnson and Dr. Gail Thaxtonbachelor’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Georgia. Johnson will serve on the OTC Board with Ola Smith, Ware (chair); Phillip Cook, Clinch; Bonnie Davis, Charlton; Troy Mattox, Pierce; John Pharr, Ware; and Gary Strickland, Brantley. Board members communicate community needs to the college president and administration; as a result, OTC considers its local board members a vital asset in the quest to fulfill the mission of the college. The local board meets monthly.
