OTC Salutes Medical Assistants

Okefenokee Technical College officials and OTC medical assisting instructor, Debra Downs, would like to recognize medical assistants in this community for their commitment to excellence and quality healthcare. With their unique versatility, medical assistants are proving to be the allied health professional of choice for many employers. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting continues to be projected as one of the fastest growing occupations.

Debra Downs, the program chair of the OTC medical assisting program, is especially proud of her current and former students. For the past seven years, the medical assisting program has been able to boast of a 100% pass rate on the National Registry Examination.
