Gary Mikel Recognized By SGA

Gary Mikel (second from right) was recognized by OTC Student Government Association (SGA) members at the organization’s April 6, 2009, meeting.SGA donates to Goal Student

SGA is the primary sponsor of the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) program, supporting excellence in technical education. Through the GOAL program, outstanding students attending the Technical College System of Georgia are recognized for academic excellence and personal achievement.

The OTC Student Government Association (SGA) is comprised of student program representatives, elected officers and faculty/staff advisors.  SGA members meet monthly and arrange events for OTC students that promote networking, career preparation, and community involvement. Amanda Morris Dryden (not shown) and Karen Boyle are SGA advisors.

“Mikel,” a respiratory care technology student, “represents OTC well,” stated Boyle. “He will do well.” Boyle is also the GOAL Coordinator for the college. According to Boyle, the next level of competition takes place in Atlanta in May.
