Nicholls Receives OTC Street Rods Scholarship

Wesley Nicholls (center) was selected as the recipient of the Okefenokee Technical College South Georgia Street Rods Scholarship for 2009. He was presented a $500 scholarship check by Cindy Tanner, Executive Director of the OTC Foundation. The scholarship was made possible by South Georgia Street Rods, Inc. Nicholls, a Brantley County resident, is in the automotive collision repair program where he has excelled for the past three quarters. His instructor, Terry Simmons (left), was on hand to congratulate Nicholls for his achievement. Nicholls chose the auto collision repair program because he loves working on cars, especially classics; heard that the program had good instructors; and hopes to work at a body shop or dealership in the near future. He plans to use his scholarship money to help pay for tuition, fees, and program equipment. If you would like to see some beautiful classics and help support local charities, be sure to attend the annual April Fool’s Rod Run April 3 & 4 at Twin Oaks Park.
