OTC Skills USA/VICA Sponsors Food Drive

A group of SkillsUSA members recently gathered around a large box of food items that will be given to those in the community who are facing financial hardship. The SkillsUSA chapter at Okefenokee Technical College began collecting non-perishable food items to help families during the holidays. Families of OTC Skills USA/VICA Studentsstudents are given priority, and the club will continue the food drive until December 11. Club members have already distributed several food boxes and hope to have enough donations for several more. SkillsUSA is a student organization that promotes occupational and leadership skills, self-confidence, quality and pride in work, positive work attitudes, and involvement in community service activities. OTC SkillsUSA advisors are Sally Smith and Faye Mathis. Advisors and members would like to thank all of the instructors and students who have donated items for the food drive. Club members present for the photo were (L to R) Nicole White, Kayla Smith, Juwanda Littleton, Ashley Sharpe, Rebecca Waldron, Samantha Lee, Carla Henderson, Kimberly McElroy, and Angela Timoneri. Happy Holidays from SkillsUSA.
